Pallets are used to transport heavy, oversized, or small goods in bulk, for example. They support the weight of the load and increase safety during transportation. Loading and unloading pallets with a forklift, in turn, reduces the risk of damage during manual unloading.
Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (CMR) is an international treaty developed by the United Nations, regulating various legal issues in the international road transport of cars and trucks, trailers, and semi-trailers.
Based on this document, the International Road Transport Union (IRU) has prepared a standard consignment note for CMR. In general, it is a contract between the three parties – the consignor, the carrier, and the consignee. It defines the responsibilities and obligations of each party in the context of the Convention.
